Career Start
Radhika Vaz is a Mumbai-born stand-up comedian and writer who came to comedy after a career in advertising and a master's in the field from Syracuse University. She is one of the earliest and most outspoken female voices in Indian English stand-up, with material that takes apart gendered expectations, marriage, sex and middle age. Her first solo show Unladylike: The Pitfalls of Propriety premiered in 2010 and became the basis of her 2015 Aleph memoir of the same name. Vaz has toured India and the US, written and performed scripted comedy online, and continues to perform regularly while writing essays and columns.
