The Short Version

ComicAdda is a free platform for discovering and tracking standup comedy. Use it respectfully, don't abuse the service, and we'll keep building it for you. The details below explain how the service works, what you may and may not do, and the limits of our liability.

Who We Are

ComicAdda (comicadda.com) is India's standup comedy discovery and tracking platform. The service is operated by ComicAdda, based in India. You can contact us at terms@comicadda.com.

Acceptance of These Terms

By creating an account or using ComicAdda, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

What ComicAdda Is

ComicAdda is an online discovery and tracking platform for Indian standup comedy. We aggregate publicly available information about comedians, videos, and specials. Videos are played through the official embedded YouTube player — we do not host, stream, or redistribute copyrighted content. Where applicable, YouTube embeds are governed by YouTube's Terms of Service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher) to create a ComicAdda account. By using the service, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you are legally able to enter into these Terms.

Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. ComicAdda does not store your password — authentication is handled by Supabase Auth on our behalf, as described in the Privacy Policy. If you suspect unauthorised access, email terms@comicadda.com immediately.

Acceptable Use

While using ComicAdda, you agree not to:

• Abuse the service through spamming, scraping, or automated access outside our documented APIs
• Post defamatory, harassing, hateful, or illegal content in reviews, lists, or any user-generated field
• Impersonate a comedian or claim a profile you do not own or manage
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract source code from the service
• Interfere with the operation, security, or availability of ComicAdda or its underlying infrastructure
• Use the service in any way that violates applicable law or the rights of any third party

Comedian Profile Claims

Comedians may claim their profile by verifying ownership of a linked YouTube channel via Google OAuth. The verification flow uses only the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly scope to confirm that you own or manage the YouTube channel associated with the comedian profile you are claiming. We cannot upload, delete, modify content, or post on your behalf.

Once verified, you control the bio, links, and social fields on your comedian profile. Misrepresenting ownership, claiming a profile you do not own or manage, or otherwise abusing the verification feature can result in suspension or termination of your account and removal of the claim.

Our handling of Google user data obtained during this flow is governed by the Google API Services User Data Policy — Limited Use Disclosure section of our Privacy Policy.

User Content

Reviews, lists, ratings, and any other content you create on ComicAdda remain your content. By submitting content to the service, you grant ComicAdda a non‑exclusive, worldwide, royalty‑free licence to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content within the service for the purpose of operating and improving ComicAdda.

You are solely responsible for the content you create and for ensuring that it does not infringe any third party's rights or violate applicable law. We may remove user content that violates these Terms or that we reasonably believe to be unlawful.

Content Ownership

Videos, comedian metadata, and other catalog content remain the property of their respective creators and rights holders, and are served under those holders' terms (including, where applicable, YouTube's Terms of Service for embedded videos). The ComicAdda name, logo, and original design elements are owned by ComicAdda and may not be used without permission.

Third‑Party Services

ComicAdda relies on a small number of trusted service providers to operate the platform — Supabase, Cloudflare, Google LLC, and Resend. The role of each provider is described in our Privacy Policy. When you interact with these providers through ComicAdda (for example, signing in with Google), their respective terms and privacy policies also apply.

Service Availability and Disclaimer

We aim to keep ComicAdda available, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non‑infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error‑free, or secure, or that any information served is accurate or complete.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ComicAdda will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold ComicAdda harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the service, your user content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time by emailing privacy@comicadda.com. Upon deletion, personal data will be removed or anonymized within 30 days as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that pose a risk to the service or other users.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of ComicAdda will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as ComicAdda evolves. Material changes will be announced on the site or by email to registered users. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
