Career Start
Karthik Kumar is a Chennai-based stand-up comedian, actor and entrepreneur who co-founded Evam, the theatre company that grew into evam Standup Tamasha, one of South India's biggest forces in live comedy. A chemical engineer by training, he quit corporate life with co-founder Sunil Vishnu to build the company, and has since performed more than a thousand shows across India, the US, UK and Southeast Asia. His specials include the 2015 hour PokeME and Blood Chutney on Amazon Prime Video. He also acts in Tamil films and television and runs workshops mentoring younger stand-ups across the South Indian circuit.
