Anuvab Pal is a Mumbai-based stand-up comedian, screenwriter, playwright and novelist often credited as one of the more cerebral voices in Indian English comedy. When The Comedy Store of London opened its Mumbai branch, he was among the first Indian comics on its bill. His touring solo show The Nation Wants To Know has clocked hundreds of performances from Sydney to San Francisco, and his historical comedy hour Empire premiered at London's Soho Theatre. He co-wrote the indie film Loins of Punjab Presents and has Bollywood screenplay credits including Baar Baar Dekho and Bhoot Police, with plays Chaos Theory and The President Is Coming also published as novels.
