Anirban Dasgupta is a Kolkata-based stand-up comedian and writer, and one of the architects of the city's comedy scene. An engineer by training, he co-founded the Comedified collective in 2014, which helped seed open-mic and club nights in Kolkata. He released his hour-long Amazon Prime Video special Take It Easy in 2018, drawing on jokes about the internet era and life in his hometown. He tours regularly across India, performs in both English and Bengali, and is widely credited with bringing a distinctly Kolkata sensibility into the wider Indian English-language stand-up circuit.
