Akash Banerjee is an Indian political satirist, broadcaster and creator behind The Deshbhakt, a YouTube channel and podcast he launched in 2018 that mixes commentary, sketch and parody to make politics digestible for digital audiences. A former journalist with NDTV, Times Now and Headlines Today, he authored Tales from Shining and Sinking India in 2013 before moving full time into satire. His on-camera personas, including the hyper-nationalist Bhakt Banerjee, lampoon performative patriotism, and his audio show runs as a regular interview-led podcast. He continues to host live tours of The Deshbhakt across Indian cities.
